This tour is located in the canton of Carrillo, which is located on one of the most important rivers in the province of Guanacaste (Tempisque River), and is also home to one of the most prestigious farms in the area, for its crops and history.
In addition to having one of the most important wetlands in the world, a protected habitat internationally recognized for hosting the largest number of resident and migratory birds within the Central American region.
This tour is located in the canton of Carrillo, Guanacaste. Here you will enjoy a one-hour and thirty-minute boat ride along the Tempisque River in a wildlife refuge where we can find one of the most important wetlands in the world. Here you will have the pleasure of enjoying the sighting of resident and migratory bird species such as: pink spoonbill heron, tiger heron, Jabirú Mycteria, needle duck, grey heron, cattle egret, scarlet macaws, mammals such as howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys and large crocodiles.
After taking this spectacular natural tour, we will go to have a delicious lunch of typical food in an important Casona, a majestic construction with more than 155 years of history, this same one continues to be a symbol of the golden age of the great haciendas in Costa Rica.
Finally, upon returning from this wonderful tour, we will do a small demonstration in one of the Archaeological cantons of Guanacaste, in the canton of Carrillo. Optionally, if clients wish, we will make a stop for a souvenir.
This option is carried out in Hacienda El Viejo, here we can enjoy a Cultural tour. Here is shown the process of sugar cane and its derivatives, tasting of it. Small explanation about the strong economic activity in the north of the country since 1800’s.
Visit to the Casita del Sabanero, which recreates the lifestyle of the authentic Costa Rican Sabanero. Tasting of products made from corn in the wood-fired kitchen, tortillas made from corn, tanelas, rosquillas (corn snacks) and a delicious coffee.
Afterwards we will return to have an exquisite lunch of Typical food in the Casona.
Finally, we will make a short tour of one of the archaeological cantons of Guanacaste, Filadelfia Park. Optional, if the client wishes to make a souvenir stop. Thus we return to the starting point from the beginning.

Visit to the Casita del Sabanero in Costa Rica, and we will finish with a tasting of snacks made from corn and on a wood stove.
Finally, we will take a short tour of one of the archaeological cantons of Guanacaste. Optional, if the client wishes, we will make a short stop, either for a souvenir, or to purchase products harvested in the area. We will return to the starting point, place of stay.
