Santa Rosa National Park is located 42 kilometers (26.1 miles) from the city of Liberia Guanacaste. protects some of the last remaining tropical dry forest in the world.
This Park was created 27 march 1971, scene of the historic battle of March 20, 1856, the Protected Wilderness Area that has a historical museum within its territory called (La Casona)
In this site, declared a World Heritage Site, the only patch of dry tropical forest in Mesoamerica is preserved. In addition, the area is fully connected to humid, cloudy and rainy forests, which makes it possible for it to have an important biological richness.

In this option you can enjoy knowing what the Santa Rosa National Park offers a visit to a museum of such importance for its Historical Battle in Costa Rica. Then a tour of its trails, where you can find different animal species such as the white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus), nectivorous bats and if you are lucky you could see wild animals such as the jaguar, puma, tapir, and different types of birds: parakeets, parrots, peacocks, magpies more.
After finishing the 2:30-minute tour of the Park we will travel 27 kilometers to a place called Cuajiniquil where we can see the Santa Elena Peninsula in the distance, right there we will have lunch at a restaurant called Arrecife. After tasting this exquisite dish, we can make a souvenir stop at the same place, and finally we will go back to our starting point from the beginning.

After 2:30 minutes of having made the tour of the Park, we will move 37 kilometers (23 miles) to Finca Nueva Zelandia with a wonderful view, here we will have traditional lunch (Casado), after enjoying the food we will go to walk for 2 hours, along the trails we can find a variety of bird species: trogons, parrots, parakeets, hummingbirds and more. Also a high variety of plants. In this way we finish the tour and we will go back to the starting point from the beginning.
